Software Engineering

I'm a Full Stack Java Developer with 9+ years of experience building large-scale academic platforms for one of Brazil's largest federal universities a Universidade Federal do Paraná. At UFPR I rebuilt the Scientific Initiation system from the ground up, replacing a legacy application with a modern Java/Spring and Vue.js stack, which is used by around 1,000 professors and more than 2,500 scholarship students every year.

M.Sc. in Computer Science on maximum clique in power-law graphs, plus postgraduate specializations in Applied Artificial Intelligence and Agile Software Development, all from UFPR.

More recently I've worked as an AI training and evaluation specialist, reviewing large language model output on Python, Java and JavaScript. Applying software engineering judgment to model training and alignment.

I'm comfortable across the Java stack, and used to translating technical trade-offs into decisions non-technical stakeholders can act on.

Full Stack Java Developer

FUNPAR - UFPR

Scholarship and grant management platforms for the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), including the Scientific Initiation system used by ~1,000 professors and 2,500+ scholarship students per year.

  • Rebuilt the Scientific Initiation system from the ground up, replacing a legacy application with a modern Java/Spring and Vue.js stack - from requirements gathering to production delivery.
  • Built REST APIs with Java/Spring and responsive front ends with Vue.js.
  • Integrated with CNPq's Lattes national research database, parsing researcher XML records to automate publication scoring for scholarship ranking.
  • Developed cross-system REST integrations to fetch and validate grant data between university platforms.
  • Conducted requirements analysis and effort estimation for the systems and modules supporting the university's scholarship selection calls.

Price Comparison App (Papa Preço)

A collaborative price comparison app: shoppers report what they paid and where, and the app builds a shared, location-aware price history so everyone can find the cheapest nearby option.

  • Android app built with Flutter (Dart), backed by a Java/Spring Boot REST API.
  • Modeled the domain and persistence layer with PostgreSQL.
  • Deployed the API to AWS (EC2) with Docker containerization.
